Situated less than 6 km south of the Bulgarian-Romanian
border. The Durankulak Lake is famous for hosting more than
250 rare species fish, reptiles, amphibians, marsh birds
and plants, many of them included in the Red Book of
Bulgaria. On the Big island, in the lake, is located an
archaeological park called by the scientists Bulgarian
Troy. Here is the largest, found in the world, Neolithic
settlement, which existed permanently more than 1500 years
(5300-3800 BC) and was inhabited, with some interruptions,
more than 6000 years.

Shabla/Sabla
The town of Shabla is located in the northern part of the
Black Sea coast (is the eastern-most settlement in Bulgaria)
and boosts with a clean and beautiful beech. It is only 24km
away from the Bulgarian-Romanian border. The small town is a
fast-developing resort some 83 km away from Varna. The
archaeological excavations at Cape Shabla (about 5km east of
the town) reveal the remains of an ancient Roman fortress,
which has served as a commercial hub for a number of
settlements along coast. The fish-rich Lake of Shabla is
situated 2 km away of the town, on the very seashore, and is
a wonderful place for fishing and recreation. It is the
nesting site for more than 100,000 wild geese.

Rusalka/Roussalka
Rusalka is a holiday compound, situated in Taukliman Bay
(Birds Bay), 16 km east of Kavarna (a town, 18 km east of
Balchik). The picturesquely carved rocky coastline, the
small and secluded strips of sand, the ancient oaks and rare
plant species have attracted millions of birds and have
turned the Bay of Birds into an oasis of nature that has
remained untouched for centuries. Lying in the deep shade of

Kavarna
Kavarna is a small port town which has a broad outlet on the
Black Sea to the Eastern and Southern sides. The coast is

The first destination is the Quiet Nest Palace, the former
summer residence of Queen Marie of Romania, and its famous
gardens of more than 35ha. The gardens are the "residence"
of 3000 or so plant species. The palace park is an imitation

Varna
Varna is Bulgaria's Sea Capital. During the holiday season,
July and August, the sunshine allows 10-11 hours of
sunbathing. There is nothing of the cool Baltic wind or the
summer Riviera heat.
The city is clean and green. Bulgaria's only Aquarium with
unique facade covered in ivy attracts many visitors.

Kamchia/Camcia
Kamchia complex is situated 28 km south of Varna and only 5
km from the high-way E-87 Varna Istanbul. It is located at
the mouth of Kamchia River, among the unique flooded longoz
forests of the Nature Reserve named after the river.

Obzor
At a point roughly midway between Burgas and Varna, the E-87
highway emerges from the hilly wooded terrain into a brief
open coastal stretch around Obzor. Despite the town's
convenient location and six-kilometer long sandy beach (the
largest between Golden Sands and Sunny Beach), this
remarkably pleasant spot is surprisingly uncrowded even
during peak season.

Sunny Beach/Coasta
Soarelui
The resort is perched at 30 km north of Burgas and about 100
km to the south of Varna and is the largest holiday complex
on the Black Sea coast. It numbers over 100 hotels, erected
in long and wide lanes, surrounded by green and shady parks.
It is naturally set in a small bay, protected by the slopes
of the Balkan Mountain to the north. Its 8-kilometers-long
beaches reach as far as Nessebur to the south. The
Mediterranean climate of the resort, a wide semi-circular
bay facing east an over 8 km long beach strip, 30-60 m wide,
fine golden sand, natural dunes, a clean and gently sloping
sea, no dangerous fish, 1700 hours of sunshine from May

It is located on a small peninsula in the Black Sea which is

Distance to Burgas is 30 km northwards (right at the very
southern part of Sunny beach resort). Nessebar is best known
for the old town (about 9000 years) on the peninsula. The
old town of Nessebur is declared an archeological and
architectural reserve in 1956. It is also a UNESCO world
heritage since 1983.

Sarafovo, Burgas
Sarafovo is a place of unspoilt beauty. Founded as a village
over 80 years ago by Thracian refugees, nowadays it has
become famous for its beautiful houses and preferred by
people as a place to live. Sarafovo has gained
attractiveness as a resort because of its unique

Wide beach, about 4 km long, covered with fine sands, almost

Pomorie
